The Magra-Bar and Restaurant
Both literally, and in spirit, the Magra-Bar is the heart of Pitstop Hill. This hand-built building blends western style with the Mentawai and Sumatran culture that surrounds us. Full height windows dominate the three external faces of the bar so that we don’t miss one second of the sunset or the remaining guests last wave in before beer o’clock. The bar windows can be opened to make the most of the breeze and the sounds of the jungle and ocean, or closed for air-conditioning and its added bonus of keeping the mosquitos at bay.

It’s here in the Magra-Bar where the day’s waves, fish caught, or books read are discussed over a few cold drinks, and where we meet to discuss plans for the next days surfing, adventures and activities.

And it’s also the place where our hungry guests sit down to three hearty meals, a combination of local Indonesian cooking, other Asian specialties and western favourites. The food at Pitstop Hill has an emphasis on locally caught fresh seafood and we pride ourselves on catering to any tastes or special requirements.
